Shiba Inu Loses Crucial Price Level, Putting 88 Trillion SHIB Wall Back in Focus

  • SHIB exchange reserves surpassed 88 trillion, reaching a four-month high.
  • Positive netflow of 288 billion SHIB signals rising selling pressure.
  • Weak demand and falling prices give bears stronger market control.

Shiba Inu holders are facing renewed uncertainty as bearish signals continue to build. A sharp rise in exchange reserves has placed a major spotlight on market behavior, especially as SHIB struggles to regain momentum. Recent onchain data points to growing selling pressure, raising concerns about further downside. With exchange balances climbing above a key threshold, traders are now watching closely for signs of the next major move.

Exchange Reserves Hit Four-Month High

Fresh data from CryptoQuant reveals a notable increase in Shiba Inu’s exchange supply. The metric shows that more SHIB tokens are flowing toward trading platforms, a trend that often signals rising sell-side activity. According to the latest figures, exchange reserves now stand at 88.07 trillion SHIB. That level marks the highest exchange balance recorded since early June. Back then, market conditions remained highly volatile, and traders reacted aggressively to price swings.

The return above the 88 trillion mark has quickly caught the attention of investors. Large exchange reserves usually indicate that more tokens are available for immediate trading. As a result, market participants often interpret such developments as a bearish signal. Further strengthening that outlook, SHIB exchange netflow currently shows a positive balance exceeding 288 billion tokens. Positive netflows generally suggest that more assets are entering exchanges than leaving them.

Such activity can increase selling pressure when market sentiment weakens. Current conditions appear to support that concern. SHIB has already lost an important price target and continues moving lower alongside the broader crypto market. The combination of falling prices and rising exchange balances creates a challenging environment for bulls.

Bears Gain Ground as SHIB Weakens

Shiba Inu has declined by nearly 3% during the past 24 hours. Although the drop may appear modest, underlying metrics tell a more concerning story. Growing exchange reserves suggest that many holders may be preparing to sell or reposition assets. Such behavior often emerges when confidence fades or traders anticipate additional downside risk. Market observers have also pointed to weakening demand.

Buying activity appears less aggressive than in previous rallies, allowing sellers to gain greater control over short-term price action. The broader cryptocurrency market has contributed to the pressure. Many digital assets have struggled to maintain upward momentum, creating a cautious atmosphere among investors. Under such conditions, meme coins often experience sharper reactions to changes in sentiment.

For now, the 88 trillion SHIB reserve level remains a critical metric to watch. Continued growth in exchange balances could strengthen bearish expectations. On the other hand, a decline in reserves may signal that holders are moving tokens away from exchanges, a development many view as more constructive. Until stronger demand returns, SHIB may remain vulnerable to further declines.

JPMorgan pointed out that due to the absence of ETF bargain-hunting funds, limited room for short covering, and the early termination of the $40 billion buyback by Samsung and SK Hynix, the rebound strength of AI stocks in October may not match that of July.
