Stellar (XLM) is currently priced at $0.1684, hovering near the lower range of its recent trading activity. The cryptocurrency has fallen significantly from its October closing high at $0.2370, putting sellers firmly in control. Technical signals on the daily chart indicate ongoing pressure on price action, raising concerns about deeper declines in the near term.
Stellar trades at $0.1684 as death cross signals increased downside risk
Death cross signals ongoing downside
A prominent technical warning has emerged with the formation of a “death cross,” a bearish pattern that occurs when a short-term moving average drops beneath a longer-term moving average. On Stellar’s chart, the 50-day moving average recently crossed below the 100-day mark and is now moving toward the 200-day moving average, situated near $0.19. Both the 50-day and 100-day averages now reside above the current price. Analysts often interpret this double confirmation as a key sign of mounting downside risk, with each moving average zone likely to act as resistance if Stellar attempts a rebound.
Stellar’s inability to reclaim crucial support levels, including $0.19 and $0.18, has further underscored its bearish momentum. Recovery attempts have repeatedly failed at progressively lower highs, with the latest bounce peaking at $0.187 before quickly losing momentum. This developing pattern points to subdued buying interest and cautious sentiment among market participants.
Volume, RSI, and support levels
Trading volume has continued to decline as Stellar’s price dropped, highlighting a lack of renewed buying appetite. Weak volume during a price slide is often interpreted as an indication that the market is both fatigued and failing to attract significant demand. Meanwhile, the relative strength index (RSI) sits around 40, signaling ongoing weakness but not yet indicating an oversold condition. This leaves the door open for further downside before technical indicators suggest a reversal is imminent.
All three moving averages—50-day, 100-day, and 200-day—are above XLM’s current price, setting a series of resistance zones that could limit any recovery attempts as sellers hold firm control of the trend.
Despite these pressures, a potential area of support remains at $0.15. Stellar previously found a bottom near this level in August, which triggered a sharp reversal and a subsequent rally above $0.22. This $0.15 region, now about 11% below the current market price, stands as the next focal point if sellers break beneath the recent low at $0.167. Should $0.15 fail to hold, attention may shift to the $0.14 mark.
For bullish traders, the critical objective is to push above $0.18. A decisive move over the 200-day moving average, located near $0.19, would be required to alleviate the existing bearish outlook.
Market monitoring and trading solutions
Effective market monitoring is increasingly vital as factors such as unexpected central bank decisions or sudden token listings can trigger sharp price movements across digital assets like Stellar. In a market where a single Fed decision or a sudden altcoin listing can change everything in seconds, jumping between different apps for charts, news, and portfolio tracking is costing investors money. Smart traders are now utilizing privacy-first tools like CryptoAppsy to consolidate everything. Without even the hassle of creating an account, you get real-time charts, smart price s, coin-specific news, and critical macro data all on one screen.
Stellar’s price action remains under pressure as key technical and volume signals fail to inspire renewed bullish momentum, leaving market participants watchful of support around $0.15 and the potential for further volatility.
