Reuters, October 29 - DoorDash DASH.O said on Thursday it will acquire US grocery delivery competitor Instacart CART.O in a deal valued at approximately $17 billion.

Amid more cautious consumer spending, a slowdown in post-pandemic growth, and rising regulatory and labor-related costs, intensifying competition is driving consolidation in the delivery sector (link).

In July this year, Uber UBER.N agreed to acquire Germany’s Delivery Hero, forming the largest food delivery group outside China.
