Uniswap Active Addresses Hit 2026 High: Why Is UNI Still Struggling Below $7?

  • Uniswap daily active addresses reached 14,591, while new addresses surged to 13,137.
  • Protocol upgrades and $6.112 billion in cumulative fees highlight growing ecosystem adoption and revenue.
  • Declining open interest weakens bullish momentum, leaving UNI’s $7 breakout level crucial for price direction.

Uniswap just delivered a surprising signal to the market. Network activity has climbed to levels not seen all year, while new address creation has exploded. Those metrics usually support stronger price performance. Yet UNI continues to trade below a major breakout zone. This gap between adoption and price action has raised an important question. Why are users flocking to Uniswap while UNI still struggles to gain momentum?

Rising Adoption Signals Strong Network Demand

Recent data from Santiment revealed a sharp increase in Uniswap network activity. Daily active addresses reached 14,591, marking the highest level recorded in 2026. Network growth also surged, with 13,137 new UNI addresses created. That figure represents the strongest expansion since September 2020. Such growth often reflects increasing user engagement and broader ecosystem participation. More active wallets usually indicate stronger demand for a platform’s services.

In Uniswap’s case, several developments appear to be driving that momentum. New Aggregator Hooks have improved liquidity routing across external sources. Traders can access liquidity more efficiently through Uniswap v4. VolatilePair Hooks have also expanded flexibility for managing volatile asset pairs. Another catalyst comes from Unichain’s planned OP Enterprise upgrade. That development has strengthened confidence in the broader ecosystem. Together, these upgrades have enhanced trading efficiency and usability.

Growth has also translated into revenue generation. According to DeFiLlama data, Uniswap has generated roughly $6.112 billion in cumulative fees. Nearly $89 million arrived during the past 30 days alone. Fee generation has placed Uniswap ahead of several major decentralized finance competitors. The protocol has also expanded beyond traditional crypto trading. Tokenized stocks contributed approximately $7.7 billion in year-to-date trading volume.

Weak Derivatives Activity Clouds the Outlook

Not all indicators support a bullish narrative. Open interest declined sharply during October 2026. Levels dropped from above $600 million in September to around $350 million by October 29. Falling open interest often signals reduced speculative participation. Traders may be adopting a more cautious approach despite strong network fundamentals.

Realized profit and loss data also remained relatively subdued. Activity hovered close to baseline levels, showing limited conviction from market participants. At the same time, reports of large exchange withdrawals have attracted attention. A wallet linked to Galaxy Digital reportedly moved around $12 million worth of UNI over six days. Such transfers can suggest accumulation by larger investors.

For now, Uniswap presents a mixed picture. Network adoption continues to accelerate, while ecosystem development remains active. However, weaker derivatives participation has tempered enthusiasm. The next move above or below $7 may determine whether UNI finally converts growing usage into stronger price momentum.

Democrats to destroy the data center boom? Goldman Sachs bucks the trend with an upgrade forecast!

Goldman Sachs has raised its forecast for US data center construction spending against the trend, increasing the 2026 projection from $67 billion to $80 billion and, for the first time, projecting $125 billion for 2028. Despite the market panic caused by Texas's moratorium, Goldman Sachs believes this is essentially a delay rather than a termination, and the overall construction cycle remains resilient. However, highly leveraged developers face substantial risks from rising financing costs and contract cancellations.
