Abbott Says SonicForce Device Trial Meets Primary Safety, Effectiveness Endpoints

04:31 AM EST, 11/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Abbott Laboratories' (ABT) experimental SonicForce device for cracking calcium deposits in coronary arteries met its main safety and effectiveness goals, based on early results of a clinical trial, the company said Sunday. In 335 patients, the 30-day target lesion failure rate was 0.3% and procedural success reached 97%, with secondary goals also achieved. SonicForce uses acoustic pressure waves comparable to kidney stone treatment technology to crack calcium and restore blood flow in heart arteries, Abbott said.
