Verizon, Ericsson Team Up to Integrate AI Into Radio Access Network Automation

09:26 AM EST, 11/03/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Verizon (VZ) and Ericsson (ERIC) said Tuesday they have teamed up to integrate artificial intelligence into the radio access network, or RAN, automation projects. The companies said that, as part of an ongoing collaboration, Verizon will roll out Ericsson's Intelligent Controller nationwide this year to support the deployment of AI-native rApps from Ericsson and Verizon. Verizon plans to test and deploy new rApps, including the Cell Anomaly Detector rApp, Root Cause Explainer rApp and Anomaly General Optimizer rApp, to support network performance, according to the statement. Financial details were not provided.
