Pundit: Amount of Fear in the XRP Community Right Now Is At Its Highest
Abs Nassif, host of the Good Evening Crypto podcast, made an observation that many in the XRP space are now sitting with. He noted in a recent post that fear in the XRP community has reached levels he has never seen before.
He asked whether people genuinely believe it is over or whether this is short-term FUD. The responses came quickly, and they reveal a community that is divided.
Critics Are Making Noise
Scrutiny of Ripple’s relationship with XRP has been building. BrutallyHonest, a vocal critic of Ripple, has argued that the company is abandoning XRP. He pointed out that RLUSD now handles dollar-to-dollar cross-border transactions, a role originally intended for XRP.
He asked why XRP can bridge a peso to a dollar but was sidelined for dollar-to-dollar transfers. He also drew a line between supporting Ripple as a company and supporting XRP as an asset, urging holders to ask themselves which side they are on.
Challenging Ripple’s Use of XRP
That scrutiny also extended to CEO Brad Garlinghouse directly. A reporter pressed Garlinghouse on why institutional demand appears to be flowing toward RLUSD rather than XRP.
Garlinghouse stated that Ripple’s payment business handled $13 trillion in transactions in 2025, with 99.9% not touching any crypto rail. Crypto commentator VALE used that figure to question how central XRP truly is to Ripple’s operations.
With many prominent voices calling out Ripple, many in the community are afraid for XRP’s future and its role in global finance.
The Community’s Response
Where Things Stand
The XRP community is processing a difficult moment. Fear is visible and critics are vocal. However, Ripple has made significant strides recently, including securing final approval for Ripple National Trust Bank. The company has consistently affirmed its commitment to XRP, but many in the community are now doubting its priorities.
