1354 GMT - Adyen's growth can accelerate into fiscal 2028 given that its addressable market is expanding past payments, Citi's Pavan Daswani and Balajee Tirupati write. "While this comes at the cost of higher near-term investment and a slower margin recovery, we believe Adyen remains well placed to deliver a rare combination of >20% growth and >50% Ebitda margins," they say. The market is overly focused on the near-term margin reset and underappreciating the long-term growth opportunity, they write. Citi cuts its target price on the stock to 1,600 euros from 1,800 euros but holds its buy rating.Shares are down 0.5% at 887.7 euros and 35% lower over the year-to-date. ([email protected])
1250 GMT - The outlook for European reinsurers looks challenging, despite recent strong share-price performances for the sector, J.P. Morgan analysts write. The 2026 hurricane season was benign, the analysts note, and the outlook for reinsurance pricing looks tougher. Lower catastrophe claims leave reinsurers with excess capital, which increases competition and puts pricing under pressure. Profitability has remained strong in 2026, but prices have started to come under material pressure, JPM notes. A robust share-price performance for reinsurance stocks doesn't account for weakening trends in the sector, the analysts add. As a result, JPM lowers its recommendation for Hannover Re stock to underweight, and cuts Munich Re stock to neutral from overweight. Hannover Re shares fall 4.3% and Munich Re is down 4.0%. 1153 GMT - U.K. banks have been hit by a tough set of results for the third quarter, Keefe, Bruyette and Woods' Edward Firth and Fatima Ghaznavi write. Margin guidance from NatWest and Lloyds Banking Group was disappointing, the analysts say. The banks put the focus on deposit competition, but KBW says this is only part of the reason for margin pressure. Another reason is a less positive regulatory and political backdrop, as well as headwinds from the mix of lending, the analysts add. KBW continues to prefer NatWest over Lloyds, as Lloyds is less profitable. NatWest shares are down 1.85% and Lloyds shares fall 1.5%. ([email protected])
1137 GMT - The cost of protecting SpaceX debt against default stay high as concerns around AI-industry cause investors to become more cautious. Worries about possibly tougher regulation on the AI sector are hurting investor sentiment and have led to a selloff in tech stocks, Quilter's Stuart Clark says in a note. SpaceX credit default swap costs trade at 296 basis points, having hit that level Thursday, marking their highest on record, S&P Global Market Intelligence data show. ([email protected])
1057 GMT - Aviva is unlikely to benefit from upside to consensus expectations over the next three years, UBS analysts write. The insurer's returns are still good, but half of Aviva's business is experiencing market-related headwinds--mainly in commercial general insurance and retirement. This is primarily driven by competition in these markets, where UBS forecasts possible lower volume growth or margin deterioration. Over the near term, UBS sees margin pressure within the Canadian business, while it forecasts annual underlying earnings-per-share growth around 6%--compared with the 7% implied by the current plan--due to the headwinds. UBS lowers its recommendation on the stock to neutral from buy, but raises the target price to 800 pence from 780 pence. Shares are down 2.8% at 731.60 pence. ([email protected])
