$GRVT Polygon’s acquisition of Coinme, completed on October 14, gives its blockchain payments operation a regulatory footprint spanning 48 US states. The deal brings state money-transmitter licences, exemptions and federal registration into Polygon Labs’ effort to connect on-chain settlement with regulated US money movement. Key takeaways Coinme brings 37 state licences and 11 exemptions to Polygon. Polygon valued the Coinme and Sequence transactions together at more than $250 million. The integrated payments platform is being introduced to selected customers. Polygon’s Coinme acquisition includes a broader payments package Coinme is a US crypto payments and cash-access business. On October 14, Polygon Labs announced that it had finalized the deal, a move that formed part of a broader acquisition plan unveiled in January, which also covered Sequence, a wallet infrastructure company. Polygon previously put the combined transactions’ value at more than $250 million. That figure covers both acquisitions, rather than Coinme alone. State licences and federal registration expand coverage The acquisition brings 37 state money-transmitter licences plus 11 applicable exemptions, together covering 48 states. It also includes registration with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network as a money services business. These permissions address the regulated side of moving money, alongside Polygon’s blockchain technology. Businesses offering stablecoin payments must meet customer-check requirements, money-transmission obligations and rules governing cash handling. Polygon Open Money Stack connects bank money with on-chain settlement The licences support Polygon Open Money Stack, infrastructure designed to bring money from banks and cards into on-chain settlement, then move it back out to recipients. The Coinme acquisition supplies regulatory permissions for that payments operation. Polygon names Tazapay, Mesh, Toku and Kira among its customers. Their businesses span cross-border payments, financial connections and payroll. Selected-customer rollout, not a nationwide consumer launch Polygon’s acquisition of Coinme strengthens its ability to meet US regulatory requirements for crypto payment services, but the completed transaction does not amount to an immediate nationwide consumer launch. Polygon says it is still introducing the unified platform to selected customers. The integrated offering is not yet available as a nationwide consumer product. $GRVT Polygon Labs expects its regulated payments business to become profitable in 2027 as it moves beyond blockchain infrastructure to enter the payments processing industry dominated by companies such as Visa (V) and Stripe, CEO Marc Boiron told CoinDesk. The company, the developer of the Polygon blockchain, said Wednesday that it completed the acquisition of Coinme, a U.S.-regulated crypto payments provider, giving theCayman Islands-based company the ability to handle conversions between cryptocurrencies, stablecoins and traditional money using its own resources. The deal is part of a shift in Polygon’s business that includes January's introduction of the Open Money Stack, a framework to support stablecoin-based payments and streamline cross-border transfers. Now, in addition to providing the technology for moving money around, it can also collect fees for converting and transferring that money, a source of revenue that previously went to other businesses, Boiron said in a video interview. "I have not considered us to compete with blockchains for a while now, to be frank," Boiron said. "It's very much that we're a payments-focused company that just uses blockchains to move money, and in particular, Polygon." Still, the company is a long way from providing serious competition to the incumbents. Visa’s payments volume in fiscal 2025 topped $12.3 trillion, while Stripe hit $1.9 trillion. Polygon is just starting its journey. The Coinme acquisition addresses a longstanding problem for blockchain networks: They provide the technology behind transactions, but often have little control over the companies generating them. The addition of Coinme will allow Polygon to handle more of the payment process, rather than handing customers off to a third party whenever money needs to enter or leave a blockchain. "We don't have that customer relationship; we don't get to decide what happens," said Boiron, who claimed rival blockchains have offered financial incentives to payment companies to move their transactions away from Polygon. "Now, when we are the ones running the regulated business, nobody can cause us to move flows anywhere that we don't want to, because we actually have those customer relationships." New source of revenue Polygon Labs earns revenue from its payment services. Transaction fees on the Polygon blockchain are separate, with priority fees distributed to validators and stakers. Boiron said the transaction fees already offset its token emissions, and he assessed that millions of dollars in additional fees go to validators and token stakers.

$GRVT Solana: Fast transactions and low fees drive growing adoption across multiple sectors. Polygon: Ethereum scaling leader with enterprise partnerships and strong long-term utility. Arbitrum: Dominant Layer 2 network benefiting from rising Ethereum ecosystem activity. Savvy crypto investors continue searching for projects with strong growth potential before the next major market rally. While Bitcoin often captures most headlines, several altcoins offer attractive opportunities for higher returns. Three names stand out today due to strong ecosystems, growing adoption, and clear use cases. Solana, Polygon, and Arbitrum have all positioned themselves for future growth. Each project brings unique strengths that could support significant price gains if market conditions remain favorable. Solana (SOL) Source: Trading View Solana has fought back from one of the toughest periods in crypto history. After the collapse of FTX created uncertainty across the ecosystem, many doubted whether the network could recover. Instead, developers returned, activity increased, and confidence slowly rebuilt. Fast transaction speeds and extremely low costs remain Solana's greatest advantages. Those features continue attracting decentralized finance projects, NFT platforms, gaming applications, and consumer-focused services. Developer participation remains healthy, while network infrastructure looks far stronger than during earlier market cycles. A remarkable recovery from below $10 in 2022 to above $100 proved strong market demand. If adoption continues rising and network usage expands further, a move toward the $300 to $400 range could become achievable during a favorable market cycle. Polygon (POL) Source: Trading View Polygon has evolved far beyond a simple Ethereum scaling network. Following the transition from MATIC to POL, the project now plays a larger role within Ethereum's long-term growth strategy. One major strength comes from advanced scaling technologies, including zkEVM solutions designed to support mass adoption. Large companies and global brands have already experimented with Polygon-powered applications. Those efforts demonstrated real-world utility rather than short-term promotional campaigns. Many users interact with Polygon-based services without even realizing blockchain technology operates behind the scenes. That seamless experience could become increasingly valuable as adoption grows. If Ethereum continues attracting developers, users, and institutions, Polygon stands to benefit directly. Arbitrum (ARB) Source: Trading View Arbitrum remains one of the strongest names in Ethereum's Layer 2 ecosystem. High user activity, deep liquidity, and consistent developer engagement have helped establish a leading position among competing scaling networks. Strong adoption across decentralized finance applications highlights growing trust in the network. Many users choose Arbitrum because transactions cost less while maintaining access to Ethereum's broader ecosystem. Although ARB lacks the long history of some older altcoins, current momentum remains encouraging. Continued expansion of Layer 2 solutions could create significant opportunities for growth. If network fundamentals remain strong and adoption continues climbing, a 3x to 5x gain during a full market cycle appears possible. Solana, Polygon, and Arbitrum each offer a compelling investment case. Strong technology and growing adoption support long-term potential. Every project addresses important challenges within the blockchain sector. Investors looking beyond Bitcoin may want to keep SOL, POL, and ARB on their watchlists.
